Twas The Night Before ( stylized as 'Twas The Night Before...) is an Cirque du Soleil seasonal show. Twas the Night Before is a reimagining of the classic 1823 Christmas poem A Visit from St. Nicholas or commonly known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore. It is the second winter-themed show/event for Cirque Du Soleil with the first being Wintuk and the 49th production since 1984. Twas the Night Before premiered at the Chicago Theatre on November 29, 2019, in Chicago, IL.

Synopsis

'Twas The Night Before... follows a young girl by the name of Isabella who has become jaded by the spirit of Christmas. She is brought into another world where she meets the characters from Moore's Christmas poem who help her get back into the holiday spirit.

The musical score for 'Twas The Night Before... was composed by Jean-Phi Goncalves who had previously rearranged and composed the music for Alegría: In A New Light.

The score contains rearranged Christmas music such as God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen, Angels We Have Heard on High, and O Holy Night. Alongside the old rearranged tracks, Goncalves composed new tracks specifically featured for 'Twas The Night Before... such as The Spark and Jolly.
